Board of Directors
Our Board is primarily responsible for our mission and operations, making sure that it's run ethically and legally. We are in need of compassionate, skilled and passionate people who are interested in improving the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities.

If you would like to serve as a Board member and contribute your time and talents, please send us a copy of your resume and a letter of intent telling us why you want to be on the Board. All Board members are required to undergo a Washington State Patrol Background Check as well. |
Individual Responsibilities for Board Members:
1. A board member is responsible for attending monthly board meetings and seeing that the organization is well run. A board member may hold an "office" or "executive position" such as president, vice president, secretary or treasurer--that has added responsibilities. A board member may also head up or serve on a board committee, e.g., the fund-raising committee.
Mission
2. A board helps to determine & guide the nonprofit's mission and purpose.
Executive Director
3. Board members hire an executive director and regularly evaluate their job performance. Board members must also agree on the executive director's responsibilities.
Financial Matters
4. One of a board's most important responsibilities is to make sure the organization has the financial resources to do its work. Board members assist in developing our annual budget, approve it and ensure proper financial controls are in place.
Board members can be:
* Individuals with developmental disabilities
* Parents, guardians, or family members of individuals with developmental disabilities
* Providers of services/administrators of programs for people with developmental disabilities.
